Traffic Issues - RCMP Enforcement
Concerns have been raised with the RCMP and Strathcona County over morning traffic flow along Colwill Boulevard. Due to parents stopping on the road to drop off students and vehicles turning left into the pumphouse, during the morning the single west bound lane of Colwill essentially turns into two lanes of traffic moving in the same direction. Colwill is designated as a single lane road in each direction and the pattern of two lines of westbound vehicles approaching the crosswalk poses a real safety issue for students crossing to the school.
There are "no stopping" signs along Colwill Boulevard for the entire length it borders F.R. Haythorne, making it illegal for a vehicle to stop there at any time for any reason. In addition, the bus lane is for "busses only". If parents are seeking an alternate area to safely stop and drop off their child, that can be done in the staff parking lot, the pumphouse parking lot, anywhere along Calico Drive, or on Colwill just west of Calico. Parent cooperation is expected and appreciated.
Please note that the RCMP will be conducting increased and on-going traffic enforcement on Colwill Boulevard, effective immediately.

PowerSchool Parent Portal
The parent portal https://powerschool.eips.ca/public/home.html gives parents 24/7 access to their child's current grades and attendance. When you look at the student information, you will notice that the mark section seems blank. If you click on the dashes in the term or year column of each course you will see all of your child's marks for that course, both formative and summative. Please note that grades will be posted within ten (10) school days of the test, project, or assignment being submitted to the teacher. In addition, attendance numbers reflect each period as opposed to days or half days.
Students who previously attended FRH can continue to access the portal using the username and password issued last year. For all students who are new to the school, a letter containing a password and username will be sent home with your child on Monday September 12. If you experience difficulties logging in or have lost your password, please contact Mrs. Cyndy Ulan at 780-467-3800 or cyndy.ulan@eips.ca
