The daily programming for every student at F. R. Haythorne includes...
- instruction in core courses (Mathematics, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies, Info Studies)
- student selected complementary courses
- Physical Education or DPA (daily physical activity) - offered on alternating days
Timetables reflect a 6-day instructional cycle. Each "day" in the cycle consists of seven 45 minute classes as well as a five minute homeroom at the beginning of each day.
Core and Complementary Courses
Core Courses are those which are mandatory and are taken by all students. They include...

Complementary Courses vary by grade level, and are those which are student selected.
F.R. Haythorne students take a minimum of two complementary courses per year. As a general rule, all students are required to take CTS (Fashion Studies, Foods Studies, and Applied Technologies). NOTE: Students interested in Band and French should select the course in grade 7 as they are three-year sequential courses, and generally, cannot be started in grades 8 or 9.
