Art Company

Working with our Art teacher, the Art Company assists in the presentation and display of student artwork. Display areas around the school celebrate the talents of our FRH artists.

Athletics Program Volunteers

Throughout the HAWKS Athletics season, these keen volunteers work as lines-people, score-keepers, and help with whatever other jobs may arise.

Athletics Teams

FRH HAWKS athletes have opportunities throughout the year to engage in sports that build on their skills and passions. Junior and senior teams are selected to represent the school in the following sports: cross country running, volleyball, basketball, badminton and track/field. Check out the "Athletics" link for more information.

Attendance Distribution Volunteers

Student volunteers assist with the distribution of materials to classrooms.

DC Graphic Novel Club

Every Tuesday we meet in the library to continue with the development and creation of a graphic novel completed by the Haythorne students!

Free the Children / World Vision

Students with a shared commitment to responsible global citizenship have undertaken a year-long fundraising campaign to help underprivileged communities in developing countries. Last year we were able to purchase medical equipment, school supplies and a complete stable of farm animals for a needy community.

Our ultimate goal this year is to raise enough money to build a school in a developing country and dedicate it to the memory of Ben Mandrusiak, who was F.R. Haythorne's principal from 2002-2008. Many students and parents will remember Mr. Mandrusiak as a kind, compassionate and dedicated administrator.

Hawk's Nest Workers

Hawk's Nest workers are grade 7 and 8 students who assist in the preparation of food items and the processing of orders at our school cafeteria during breakfast and  lunch hour. Working with Mrs. Ascasibar and Mrs. Thompson, these students efficiently handle the "hungry masses" who line up each day.

Intramurals

We have touch football, soccer, volleyball and more for intramurals that run daily at lunchtime.  Check out our intramural page for more information.

Library Student Volunteers

Student volunteers assist in the morning and lunch hour, circulating materials and helping students. Their positive participation adds to the welcoming environment of our library.

Performing Arts: Musical Theatre

Mrs. Lewis and her talented students have planned an ambitious production for this spring... the Disney feature. Alice in Wonderland.  The cast of this production includes not only the students of her Grade 8 and 9 Musical Theatre option, but student musicians from the Band program, and additional student singers. Check the website to see when tickets go on sale.

Student Representative Council (SRC)

Special activities such as the Halloween pumpkin carving contest, Valentine's Day dance, and the Candy-gram message day are only some of the many activities organized and run by our active Student Representative Council members.
